Pope Benedict sending Secretary of State to Peru

.- After reciting the Angelus prayer today, the Pope remembered those affected by the “devastating earthquake” in Peru and announced that he is sending the Vatican’s Secretary of State with help from the Church. For the many dead, the Pope invoked the peace of the Lord, and for the injured “a quick recovery”. For those left in conditions of poverty, the Pope said “the Church is with you, with all of you in spiritual and material solidarity”. The Pope said that Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, the Vatican Secretary of State, will soon be travelling to the country where he will personally relay the Pope’s sympathies and “concrete help from the Holy See”.
