Sotomayor receives NARAL endorsement

.- The pro-abortion group NARAL Pro-Choice America has announced its support for Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. NARAL president Nancy Keenan and NARAL Pro-Choice New York president Kelli Conlin issued a joint statement on Tuesday saying that President Barack Obama made a “sound choice” in nominating Sotomayor. “From the beginning, we have said her nomination reflects the president's commitment to ensuring that justices have strong legal credentials and understand how the law affects everyday people's lives, including the need to keep politicians from interfering in our personal, private medical decisions.” Keenan and Conlin noted that they had testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee that the fate of the pro-abortion Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade “hangs in the balance.” They added that they were “pleased” that Judge Sotomayor, in their view, expressed “stronger support for the established constitutional right to privacy” than either Chief Justice John Roberts or Justice Samuel Alito. Those two previous Supreme Court nominees, they said, had “anti-choice” records before being nominated and confirmed. According to the NARAL leaders, Judge Sotomayor had said several times in her confirmation hearing that the constitutional right to privacy includes “the right to choose.” Keenan and Conlin explained that strong support for Sotomayor from their “pro-choice allies” contributed to their own decision to support her nomination, as did President Obama’s “consistent record” of support for Roe v. Wade and for placing likeminded individuals in “key posts.” Soon after Sotomayor’s nomination was announced, the New York Times reported that some pro-abortion groups were “quietly expressing unease” about her reliability in upholding Roe v. Wade. At the time, Keenan released a statement saying NARAL was looking forward to learning more about Judge Sotomayor’s views on abortion. The Denver Post reports that Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has expressed confidence that Judge Sotomayor will be confirmed by a full Senate vote in time for the Supreme Court’s first meeting on September 9. I am consistently disturbed by both NARAL and those who claim there is not right to privacy. NARAL represents as depraved a viewpoint as those within the pseudo-Life movement who silently rejoiced (and sometimes openly rejoiced) at the murder of Dr. George Tiller.
The view that there is no right to privacy in the Constitution is even more dangerous. If there is no such right, there should be and an amendment needs to be drawn up and passed immediately. The Bush administration demonstrated how far our government is willing to go to invade the private lives of its citizens, and how much of their privacy citizens are willing to jettison in the name of false security.
This dangerous thinking is being used by some to slowly transform the Republican Party, and conservatism in general into an American version of the National Socialist Party of unhappy memory. Homeland Security, historically, is nothing more than a cover for secret police, survellience of the citizenry, and crimes against humanity in the name of 'security'. Muslims feel the effects of this evil today just as African Americans did under Jim Crow.
Fortunately, Sotomayor was confirmed as expected. Easily one of the most balanced and experienced of justices, her approach to law is precisely what is needed and demanded by the Supreme Court.

THere is no right to privacy in the constitution. Roe v. Wade is built on a house of cards.

Thats NOT An endorsement to ever be proud of in any shape or form
Rather it would be so embarassing to any genuine committed pro life person! and should be instantly REPUDIATED! Far more especially if you are actively seeking high office, where to so many aspiring young people of your religion, gender, ethnicity you may been seen as a role model! Life is never ever just for the privileged, the planned, the perfect. Every judge that sits on any case is here today, alive and breathing because obviously most likely their OWN mother was pro life about their own innocent preborn lives! Women are designed to be the carriers of innocent preborn lives, never ever the destroyers! Mothers to be should be protecting their unborn children from the moment of conception onwards simple as that This jaded lobby groupas above should have NO SAY in the public arena in endorsing any judges! Choice CALLOUSLY throws all the burden/ repurcussions back on expectant mothers its not good enough women deserve so much better in this high tech age, so do the unborn!

May all those nominated and elected to serve the common law and the common good,to uphold the principals of the United States, find the grace of God to help them. May all our prayers be with all elected officials wether we agree with them or not. May there be unity and not division,in all the decisions that they make. We all need the help of God now more than ever, and may all of us be instruments for a more loving and lasting peace, which is our prosperity,in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. May the Holy Spirit be with each and every one of us to guide us. Together may our nation find the grace it needs to survive and to remain one nation under God. May God be the endorsement in everything we do. May our thinking always be open to the inspiration of the Divine Mind, Amen.
