Franklin,
Just move to Venezuela if you are not happy with the decision. Why live here, in the country you do not agree with and are so upset about? Seriously, why would it bother you if the US has bases in Venezuela? Maybe you should re-consider your choices. I can't believe this is even an issue with you.

As a Colombian and Latin American I pray for peace in Latin America, especially between these two sibling countries.
Let's be united in prayer FOR PEACE!

You seem to be confused (or caught up in an anti Chavez frenzy) over what exactly Venezuela President Chavez said as regards Venezuela being prepared to defend itself after the United States announced it would build five military bases in neighboring Columbia, this after the US participated in a coup against Chavez in 2002 and has since continued its efforts to destabilize Venezuela, through, for instance, assistance to internal Venezuelan anti Chavez groups such as Sumate and others, channeled through USAID, the CIA and by many other means. Read the papers. The bases, which the US laughingly claims to be to fight drugs, are certainly a threat to Venezuela and it is not an open secret they were meant to be that. As I say, read the papers.
