Americans to ‘outstrip’ Nazis in taking human life, says bishop

.- The United States, with its vast abortion industry, will soon rival the Nazis, who were responsible for about 50 million deaths during the Second World War, said Bishop Thomas Doran of Rockford, last week.

Americans are appalled by the Nazi regime, “and yet in our country we have, for the most part, allowed the party of death and the court system it has produced to eliminate, since 1973, upwards of 40 million of our fellow citizens without allowing them to see the light of day,” the bishop wrote in the diocesan newspaper.

“No doubt, we shall soon outstrip the Nazis in doing human beings to death,” he stated.

In his Aug. 10 column, the bishop said the “seven sacraments” of secular culture—abortion, buggery, contraception, divorce, euthanasia, feminism of the radical type, and genetic experimentation and mutilation—are “a clear and present danger to our survival as a nation.”

These “sacraments”, he said, “defile and debase our human nature and our human destiny.” He noted that these behaviors are promoted and defended in government by a particular political party, though he did not name the party.

In particular, the bishop argued that the legalization of abortion in 1973 has led to greater violence in society. “What we have to remember is that violence breeds violence. When we tolerate unjust attacks upon the tiniest innocents among us, we habituate ourselves to violence,” he wrote.

The violence of abortion coarsens people to the atrocities and loss of life around the world, he said. “How accustomed we have become to the immense loss of life in our wars throughout the world!” he wrote. “It is true what the theologians have said, that sin darkens the intellect, and weakens the will.”

All Catholics have the duty to support local pro-life movements and to work for an end to the culture of death, he insisted. The bishop expressed his dismay about some of his priests and some faithful not supporting the pro-life movement.

From examples like this, and what I have read and heard (a buddy of mine lives in the Rockford diocese), that Bishop Doran is an awesome priest. No wonder he has been able to ordain solid Catholic men to the priesthood there. Rockford is one of those dioceses saying "what priest shortage." Keep up the good work, and if you visit, check out the Tridentine Mass at the parish near the jail.

Bishop Doran, more power to you! Keep it up. All we need now is all the cardinals, bischops, priest and religious to join you in opening the eyes of your flock. If they don't listen it becomes their problem but our Holy Church must speak up. God bless !

Am happy to see Bishop Doran taking a an oral stand against abortion.Lived in the Rockford diocese from '97-05 and never heard one word from the Bishop regarding abortion. I would have loved to have heard something said against this heinous crime but there never seemed to enough time due to the many letters asking for money for the various diocesan agencies. Don't get me wrong, I know it is imperative to have operating money for any large organization but in 8 years??? Better late than never, I guess. Am hoping the new Bishop in the Joliet Diocese follows Bishop Doran's example. Another diocese where the people know how to talk their faces off after Mass & love to hold hands but think they can vote for Pro-abortion candidates and still be Catholic.

Boom! The Bishop of Rockford rocks! Way to tell it like it is and give those "sacraments" the smackdown! I pray and hope the Catholic religious who support any of these chaffs among the wheat are far and few between, not to mention branches that are quickly dying on the vine.

The evil of modern life and times marches inexorably forward under the guise of the "rights of the individual". I recall a journalist admonishing Mother Theresa about the Church's position on life and abortion. They asked her, "Mother, why aren't you and the Church more interested in real problems like nuclear war?!" The saint responded that "...indeed, nulcear war is the end result of abortion..." What have we become? We are a society that kills our own offspring in the womb in staggering numbers without a second thought! On behalf of our nations and citizens, we must plead the blood of Christ for mercy.

Bravo to Bishop Doran. I had almost forgotten what a Catholic Bishop sounds like (whosae last name is not Bruskewitz).

You lucky Rockford Catholics, pray for us miserable sinners who have been given Cardinal Mahony for our sins.

Prayer of John Paul II for Life
O Mary,
bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life:
Look down, O Mother,
upon the vast numbers
of babies to be born,
of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women
who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed
by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son
may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love
to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace
to accept that Gospel
as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude
throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it
resolutely, in order to build,
together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God,
the Creator and lover of life.

Pope John Paul II
Encyclical Letter "The Gospel of Life"
Given in Rome, on March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, in the year 1995.

PART II

O Help of Christians, we beg you to protect all mothers of the unborn and the children within their wombs. We plead with you for your help to end the holocaust of abortion. Melt hearts so that life may be revered!

Holy Mother, we pray to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart for all mothers and all unborn children that they may have life here on earth and by the most Precious Blood shed by your Son that they may have eternal life with Him in heaven. We also pray to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart for all abortionists and all abortion supporters that they may be converted and accept your Son, Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior. Defend all of your children in the battle against Satan and all of the evil spirits in this present darkness.

We desire that the innocent unborn children who die without Baptism should be baptized and saved. We ask that you obtain this grace for them and repentance, reconciliation and pardon from God for their parents and their killers.

Let there be revealed, once more, in the history of the world the infinite power of merciful love. May it put an end to evil. May it transform consciences. May your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of hope. May Christ the King reign over us, our families, cities, states, nations and the whole of humanity.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary, hear our pleas and accept this cry from our hearts!

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Protectress of the Unborn, Pray for us!

A Prayer for Abortion Victims (PART I)

Prayer for all victims of abortion. May those involved in abortions be reconciled to God and may the innocent dead be saved.

Holy Mother of God and of the Church, our Lady of Guadalupe, you were chosen by the Father for the Son through the Holy Spirit.
You are the Woman clothed with the sun who labors to give birth to Christ while Satan, the Red Dragon, waits to voraciously devour your child.

So too did Herod seek to destroy your Son, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and massacred many innocent children in the process.
So today does abortion killing many innocent unborn children and exploiting many mothers in its attack upon human life and upon the Church, the Body of Christ.

Mother of the Innocents, we praise God in you for His gifts to you of your Immaculate Conception, your freedom from actual sin; your fullness of grace, your Motherhood of God and the Church, your Perpetual Virginity and your Assumption in body and soul into heaven.

I too am amazed that some of our priests, nuns, and religious groups are pro-choice. As far as I can see, they have forgotten the tenants of our faith and are Catholic in name only. Consequently, if they truly believe that their convictions are true they should consider finding a new home for their culture of death. In 2 John vv. 9-11, he states "Anyone, who is so
'progressive'as not to remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God; whoever remains in the teaching has the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him in your house or even greet him, for whoever greets him shares in his evil works." (NAB)

When you actually see the staggering number of 40,000,000 unborn baby children killed in the womb since 1973 when abortion became legalized because of that infamous Roe versus Wade ruling, you realize the enormity of what an Argentinian Bishop called the "massacre of the unborn" only a week or so ago. And the numbers do not end just there. Add all the unborn that have been terminated throughout the entire world in human history and you realize how truly catostrophic this horrible practice is and has become a disaster of biblical proportions totally unprecedented in human history. Yet our civilization especially in the western world calls it self progressive and modern. Jane Roe in Roe versus Wade wants absolutely nothing to do with the anti-life pro abortion movement. Why the American and world media do not ask Jane Roe why she made this complete about change to have nothing to do with the pro abortion anti-life movement is the $64,000,000 question all Americans and the entire world need to hear an answer to? Why does not a major American network do this story or interview or even a movie about Jane Roe to find out the answer to this very important Why? I challenge 60 Minutes on CBS or 20/20 on ABC to do this story on their program? If these networks are really serious about contriversial topics and huge audience numbers this is story they need to do! I too agree with Robert Rice of N. Hartford to pray to Our Lady of Guadalupe to defend the life of the unborn.

And see what happened to Nazi Germany and the death camps. God save us from the horrors and evil of abortion. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, intercede for us to end abortion, and to defend life from conception to natural death.
