.- The secretary general of the Bishopsâ Conference of Colombia, Bishop Juan Vicente Cordoba Villota, said any referendum on whether to allow the countyâs president Alvaro Uribe to run for a third term must be transparent and be clearly spelled out.
The referendum âmust be done in accord with the law,â he said. âColombians are asking that this be very clearâ¦Colombians accept what the law tells them,â the bishop told reporters.
Bishop Cordoba also stated that, âIf there is no transparency, there is no referendum.â
