British archbishop encourages Christian community in Gaza Strip

.- In a letter to Msgr. Manuel Musallam of Holy Family Church in Gaza City, the vice president of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales, Archbishop Patrick Kelly of Liverpool, pointed to the “vibrant faith of the Christians in the Gaza Strip” and pledged the ongoing “determination” of the bishops from Europe and North America “to pray, reflect and walk with our Lord’s followers in the Holy Land.”

“For myself there is the constant clash of images: the children of Gaza, who greeted us with song and dancing, and the violent images of civil strife, fear and cries of revenge,” the archbishop said in his letter.

“May the peace of God descend on our brothers and sisters in Christ” who are in Gaza, he continued.

In January, Archbishop Kelly traveled to the Holy Land with a group of European and US bishops to bring aid to the Church in the Holy Land.
