Cardinal Glemp proposes making Mary patroness of European Parliament

.- The Archbishop Emeritus of Warsaw, Cardinal Jozef Glemp, said last week he hopes Our Lady of Trybunalski, the patroness of the Polish parliament, will be named patroness of the European Parliament as well. According to the Polish daily “Metro,” the proposal will be sent to Brussels sometime this month. Cardinal Glemp first made the proposal during the feast of Our Lady of Czestochowa in August. Our Lady of Trybunalski was named patroness of the Polish parliament by its former president, Marek Jurek. Subscriber comments:

... and what does Mary have to say about all this?
Does this mean that those parliaments will now operate only for the benefit of the peoples? Will the Polish and Euro groups always be of like mind, from then on? Certainly these would be good things, yet I doubt that there will be any more improvement in mens' condition than with other "patron saints" of the past.
