Church of England votes to discuss possibility of women bishops

.- The General Synod of the Church of England has voted to consider allowing women to become bishops, reported the Associated Press.  The vote means a decision could be made on the issue by the church's governing body when it holds its second and final synod this year in July.

Conservatives and evangelicals in the church are opposed to this move. They believe there is no biblical precedent for women bishops, since all of Christ's apostles were male.
