While intolerance was rampant in Europe, Isabella's explusion of all Jews and Muslims in 1492 should be taken into consideration in the canonization process.

Before proceedings begin concerning the canonization of Isabell of Spain, you should think of including her daughter, Catherine of Aragon. She lived a white martyrdom by remaining true and good to her wayward husband, Henry. She was the most accomplished woman of her time and won the hearts of the English people. Henry would not send public documents out without having them checked by his wife. See additional details in Garrett Mattingly's authoritative and splendid biography, Catherine of Aragon.
