.- The Italian daily, Secolo d’Italia, is reporting that Joaquin Navarro-Valls will stay on as official spokesman and director of the Holy See’s Press Office. Navarro-Valls said his continuing on the post had been confirmed by Pope Benedict XVI. He has held the position since being named by Pope John Paul II in 1984.
“It’s not easy to say ‘no’ to a Pope,” Navarro-Valls said during the interview.
