.- Pope John Paul II could be beatified on April 2, 2010, exactly five years after his death, according to a report in the Polish newspaper Dziennik, which claims the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints has already made the decision. At the beginning of this month, Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz of Krakow said the beatification process of Pope John Paul II was about to be concluded and that Benedict XVI himself wanted to close the process “as soon as possible” because that “is what the world is asking for.” The beatification process of John Paul II began on June 28, 2005, two months after the death of the Pontiff thanks to a dispensation granted by Pope Benedict. The dispensation waived the normal five-year waiting period after a person dies that the Church requires before a cause for canonization can be opened. Subscriber comments:

Be it the 2nd of April 2010 or any other date deemed fit by the Vatican makes no difference. We are eagerly awaiting the beatification and Sainthood of our most loved JPII. For me personally he is already a Saint even if not canonised. May the good Lord grant me enough health to be present for his beatification. I owe it to God through JP II that as till today I am enjoying good health although I was diagonised with an incurable disease in the eyes of the specialists.

I cannot support the canonization of John Paul II. He led the Church in a U-turn away form the spirit and teachings of Vatican II.
He also crushed open intellectual inquiry and sincere dissenting opinions within the Church. The Holy Spirit does not enlighten us and inspire u in a vacuum. He thrives in the open air of honest discussion. I feel that much of John Paul II's papacy echoed the Church's brutal persecution of Galileo, when he was forced to recant his teaching that the earth was not the center of the solar system. John Paul "rehabilitated" Galileo; however, he went to great lengths to stifle so-called "unorthodox" thinking. If the Church is to survive, it must abandon its institutional character as a theocracy. The People of God can no longer be ruled as if they are docile, unthinking children.

Deep in our we know that Pope John Paul II is a very holy, humble, intelligent, loving, forgiving and compassionate person. His smiling face where Holy Spirit glow shone, and love overflowing for everyone, his homilies and tremendous trust in God even in darkest moment of worst happenings has strengthened our faith in Christ. Even the Non-Christians have been touched by his simplicity, purity of heart and understanding others in their situation and his devotion to Mother Mary has converted and transformed people gone astray and lost in darkness. I am waiting for the day of his beatification! Pope John Paul II, pray to Jesus thru' Mother Mary to bless our whole family true love for Jesus and the devotion Mother Mary.

Wonderful news regardless of the timeline! Sancto subito, as our Italian friends shouted joyfully in St. Peter's Square. I hope the negative views out there will change: have more faith that the Holy Spirit knows what he's doing and you will be happier and freer. It's the year of St. Paul: let's follow his advice. Fortes in fide!

So that coincides with The First day of the Divine Mercy Novena i.e we will recite
“Today, bring to Me all mankind, especially all sinners, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.” ….
