Pope appoints presidents for bishops’ synod on the Bible

Vatican City, Jun 24, 2008 / 11:43 pm (CNA).- Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Cardinal William Joseph Levada, Cardinal Oswald Gracias and Cardinal Odilo Pedro Scherer, as presidents of the bishops’ synod on the Bible.

The three presidents will take turns presiding over the assembly of the world’s bishops, which will be held in the Vatican from October 5 to 26 on the theme: "The Word of God in the Life and the Mission of the Church."
