At the conclusion of Vespers at the Cathedral of Aosta on Friday, Pope Benedict XVI greeted the more than 20,000 faithful gathered outside the church and joked about his fractured wrist, wishing them “a pleasant vacation like the one I am having…but without any accidents.”
During his greeting the faithful gathered outside the cathedral, the Holy Father said, “I would simply like to say ‘thank you’ for your reception, for your affection and sympathy. We are all here united in prayer, and we are united in the friendship that the Lord gives us.”
