It seems to me, first, that Dr. Di Spinog, and perhaps J. Gotera, have redefined "evolution."
If, after the "fall," certain genetic changes occurred, which evolutionists have discovered to bolster their theory, perhaps they are correct-- within the confines of their re-definition. But, either God took a clod of earth and formed a man and took one of Adam's ribs to form a woman--or He didn't! (I guess it is simply not a sophisticated enough explanation for our time--we're so smart these days, aren't we?). Second, if there weren't any people, there wouldn't have been the "turning away from God..." etc. Therefore, the only question is only, HOW did we begin? Third, find out what happens to scientists who openly question the evolutionary theory, refusing to tout what might be called the "party line." Fourth, read, "Forbidden Archaeology," a book that questions carbon dating and contains more anecdotes dealing with evolution than you'll read anywhere.

Thank you Arthur V Cardenas. So beautifully said."Ever since the creation of the world his invisible attributes of eternal power and divinity have been able to be understood and perceived in what he has made. As a result they have no excuse." Romans 1:18-23

Evolution as currently taught is evil. The atheists/secular humanists want the origin of man to be evolved from apes, and all the way back to a microbe, instead of man being created in the image and likeness of God. The origin of man is Adam. If they do away with Adam, then they do away with original sin. No original sin = no need for forgiveness of sin. No forgiveness of sin = no need for a Savior. No need for a Savior = No need for God.
These people are pretty clever but will fail as they cannot thwart God's Divine Will. His Will will be done. Mary, Seat of Wisdom, pray for us!

I agree with Dr. Di Spinog that evolution does not contradict the Catholic faith. However, it was evolutionary theory that atheists used to "debunk" the Bible, thus promoting their materialistic, secularist agenda. Our concern should not be for the theory itself, but in how it is interpreted and taught.

"If we walk in the light, as God is in the light, there is fellowship among us, and the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, will cleanse us from all sin."
1John 1:7 May the world experience the awesome power of Christ's blood.

Popes Benedict XVI and John Paul II have been consistent in affirming that many principles of evolotion are NOT inconsistent with the Churches stand in the role of God as creator of life and indeed the very elements and "science" on which the theory of evolution is formed. We have not accepted accepted the limits put on God as creator by the book of Genesis. Through the Holy Spirit God allow his crreation. Man to learn more about our creator. Once again John Paul II and Benedict like many Pontifs before them actively support the astrophysics research by the highly regarded Vatican Observatory at Castel Gandolfo and Tuson, Az. The chuch understands that science is not inconsistent with Catholic Teaching. It is not evolution that is the heart of secular/humnist teaching but a turning away from God, materalism, and a lack of openess to the holy spirit that results in the "culture of death" that is taking over thinking in the Western World. The Jesuit astrophysicists that are appointed by the Holy Father to run the Vatican Observatory are indeed Gods agents doing Gods work and help us understand that our God is indeed more magnificant, powerful and loving from the very scientific research the Mr. Feo seems to reject.

I am happy to see that the Catholic Church is having the symposium on the defense of creation. Evolution is at the heart of the secular/humanist teaching that seeks to subordinate to itself the reason for Man's existence, as science dabbles increasingly in unethical means to control, even create, life as it sets the moral and intellectual parameters for doing so.
