The reliquary containing the tibia of St. Mary Magdalene

.- A French priest has brought a relic of St. Mary Magdalene on its first visit to the United States to share the story of the relic and the saint who is recorded as the first witness of the Resurrection.

Fr. Thomas Michelet, a Dominican priest, is touring with the permission of Bishop Dominique Rey of Frejus-Toulon, the relic’s home, EWTN reports.

A letter of authentication from Bishop Rey reports that the relics were hidden at the time of the Saracen invasions and rediscovered in 1279, from which date they have been venerated without interruption.

“They are presently kept by the Dominican priests in the cave of St. Baume, a part of my diocese. A new reliquary has been constructed to allow one of the relics, a piece of the tibia, to travel to different countries for veneration by the entire Church.”

Fr. Michelet will appear on a special EWTN Live with Fr. Mitch Pacwa on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.

“EWTN is honored that the relic will be coming to the Network and that viewers will be able to not only see one of the relics, but to listen to Fr. Michelet discuss its storied history,” commented EWTN Executive Vice President Doug Keck.

The relic's itinerary can be found here: http://www.jp2trainingcenter.com/mm%27sitinerary

Today God gave me the gift and pleasure of venterating a special friend in His life. The experince was like no other for me. The Grace of the Holy Spirit was so Great and Powerfull from the minute I entered the Church I had tears continually flowing uncontrollable. I have seen the timla of Our Lady Quadalupe and relics of Saints but today I truley felt I was in the company of Jesus' closest friend. If you have the chance don't miss this moment. Thank You Dominican Priests for the wonderful Gift.

Thanks so much to EWTN and those who brought the relic of St. Mary Magdalene to our country. Jesus sends her to tell us, "I ascend to My Father and your Father, to my God and your God," so that we will return to the Father who loves us so much. It is critical that the Church recover the identity of this woman who is clearly identical with Mary of Bethany and who Jesus has raised up to be a living witness of the power of His Divine Mercy. She is a spouse of Jesus Christ (not in the way that the world sees it but according to Theology of the Body--because all the baptized are the Bride of Christ and because she is a preeminent member of the Church and the leader of all sinful forgiven consecrated women. She is the friend of the Immaculate Conception who stood with her beneath the Cross, and if John is the eldest son of the Church then she must be the eldest daughter. So how apropos that God should send her to France. (It is also recorded that she brought the bones of St. Anne with her, the mother of the Immaculate Conception, to the land where Our Lady would later twice reveal this truth (1830--Miraculous Medal and 1858--Lourdes) Praise God for the great work of mercy He continues to do through this beautiful Saint Mary Magdalene. May the Church hasten to recover the authentic identity of the one whom Jesus said would be remembered wherever the Gospel was preached. Please bring her relic to New Hampshire! God bless you! Has the Itinerary for Mary Magdalene's Relic been updated?? will there be a time for veneration at St. Anthony's on Canal St. in New Orleans? On Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st there is only Mass listed as part of the Itinerary. No time for veneration has been listed. I'm sure hundreds if not thousnads would like to venerate her.

I do believe St. Mary Magdalene is being sent by the Lord to us, in our great spiritual need, "FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS" and in this place. This great Saint actually came to me in a dream a few years ago, on what turned out to be her Feastday, which I had not known. Christ was being maligned, using this great Saint, whome the devil hates, as he hates all of us. Mary Magdalene told me several things in dream. One of them is that Chastity is to love as God loves, for the true and eternal good of the other and others. At the time of the dream, I was on a trip to a Latin American Country for the priestly ordination of three young friends. My command of Spanish at the time was small, but when I awoke, I sat at a typewriter and wrote in Spanish a most beautiful Novena to St. Mary Magdalene, as it flowed automatically "as if dictated." I have also translated it into English myself. (Well did the Holy Spirit to dictate the Spanish version, as I could do the English and Italian...) I'd be glad to share this... and would like to be in contact with the Center about this great Saint. Please contact me. I am a Vatican-trained Psychologist, studies in Rome. I did my thesis on The Psychological Aspects of The Sacrament of Reconciliation. (Summa Cum Laude.) This was done before my encounter with St. Mary Magdalene. I worked for years after as a Lay Missionary, with street children.

Blessed be the one "who fell in Love with her Lord"! I would give anything to stand/kneel with her as she did so many times while she and Jesus were both alive on earth. Are her relics coming to Louisiana? To any other state? Please let me know? Pray for us, St. Mary Magdalene. from one who loves you very much
