Paris, France, Aug 10, 2009 / 01:24 pm (CNA).- As part of the International Marian Festival that will take place in Paray le Monial, France, August 14-19, the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary will be prayed on five of the the world’s continents beginning at 5 p.m. (Paris time) on Sunday, August 16.

According to a press release, the Rosary will be prayed “with the Word of God, assisted by meditations from John Paul II at the time of his arrival in France” in 1986, when he consecrated the world to the Virgin Mary.

“John Paul II will entrust our important prayer intentions to the intercession of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary close to the Father,” organizers said.

The purpose of the worldwide Rosary will be “to pray for peace, for the Church, for France, for the world and for the mission of each one of us in particular.”

Those who wish to join in the prayer should note that 5:00pm Paris time is 11:00 a.m. Eastern time and 8:00 a.m. Pacific. More information can be found at: http://www.festivalmarial.com

For Judith Adamek: I clicked onto the program schedule, & yes, was only French & Italian. I right-clicked on program & my PC & Translate with Live Search came up. Clicked that & program came up in English. Hope you can do same.

I'm glad somebody finally got the number of continents right. I grew up being taught there were seven. Of course I can understand why there may not be the praying of the Rosary in Antarctica, because there just aren't many people there. But I have recently determined, at least as far as I'm that Europe and Asia are only one continent. I do assume, however that people will be praying the Rosary in both places.

Our Blessed Virgin Mother, Mary, will be praying with us on Her glorious Assumption Day and our Lord Jesus, together with all the holy angels and saints, will take all of our hearts'petitions and present them to the Throne of God for action! True peace can only be achieved through the Blessed Mother by means of praying the Holy Rosary.
Because without the Blessed Mother our desire and hope for peace could not otherwise be fulfilled. Real and lasting peace will never come through negotiations with the wise and the powerful of the world. It will only come through Christ the King and the Blessed Mother of God.
I do hope God willing, the truth of Fatima will someday be realized.

I for one will try to join in reciting the rosary. I feel without heaven's intervention, this is some thing we cannot solve with out our Lady;s intercession.

This is WONDERFUL! The world desperately needs prayer and I pray that Heaven hears the prayers of millions of people offering up their rosaries for the intentions mentioned......and for America!
