Angelo Cardinal Bagnasco is the current Archbishop of Genova, Italy and Cardinal-Priest of Gran Madre di Dio. He was born on January 14, 1943 in Pontevico, Italy and was ordained a priest of Genova at the age of 23. He was appointed and ordained Bishop of Pesaro February 7, 1998 (which later became Archbishop). In 2003 he was appointed Archbishop of Italy, Military and three years later Archbishop of Genova. From there he was elevated to Cardinal-Priest and installed on November 26, 2007. He maintains an active role in the fight against abortion, same-sex unions, and transparency in politics.
