Brady, Sean Baptist*

Sean Baptist Brady, born August 16, 1939 in Drumcalpin, is the current Archbishop of Armagh, Ireland. Sean Baptist Brady obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree in Ancient Classics from Maynooth College in 1960. He then studied in Rome in order to earn his license in Sacred Theology. He began his vocation as a priest on February 22, 1964, the same year he received his Licentiate in Sacred Theology. In 1995 he was ordained Coadjutor Archbishop of Armagh and was later made Archbishop. In 2001, John Paul II appointed him to be Archbishop of Dublin and Primate of Ireland. When he was elevated to Cardinal on November 24, 2007 it was the first time in a century that Archbishop of Dublin was made Cardinal rather than the Archbishop of Armagh. In 2008, he was installed as a Cardinal-Priest.
