John Cardinal Njue (born 1944 in Embu, Kenya) was ordained a priest of Embu on January 6, 1973. He later taught philosophy at the National Seminary in Bungoma. In 1986, he was appointed and ordained Bishop of Embu. In 2007, he was installed Archbishop of Nairobi as well as elevated to Cardinal. He became Cardinal-Priest of Preziosissimo Sangue di Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo on February 17, 2008.
