José Francisco Cardinal Robles Ortega is the current Archbishop of Guadalajara and Cardinal-Priest of S. Maria della Presentazione. He was born March 2, 1949 in Mascota, Mexico and ordained a priest of Autlán, Jalisco on July 20, 1979. He went on to teach philosophy and theology at the seminary in Autlan.

At the age of 42, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Toluca as well as Titular Bishop of Bossa. In 1996 he was installed as Bishop of Toluca, Mexico. After being installed Archbishop of Monterrey in 2003, he was elevated to Cardinal-Priest and installed on October 25, 2008. He works actively towards the elimination of relativism in secular institutions, poverty, the importance of family, and active avoidance of drug infiltration. On December 7, 2011 he was appointed Archbishop of Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, and was installed on February 7, 2012.
