Assistant of the expectant Mothers

Oh Mary, mother of love!
You were an expectant mother,
your “yes” to God’s message,
made you embrace your vocation,
of the most excellent mother.
For the work of the Holy Spirit
the eternal word,
made himself man,
in your virginal womb.
You carried him
and you were bound with him
in a communion of no equal.

The evangelizing fire
was united
to your supportive service of Elizabeth,
carrying to your relative
also expectant,
and the child she bore,
the gift of radiating life,
that in the tabernacle
of you pure womb you carried.

As you helped Elizabeth,
when she carried Saint John
in her maternal womb,
help my (spouse, mother, sister, daughter, friend)
who is also,
in a state of good hope.
I ask you
to intercede maternally
that her gestation
be without trouble
that she gives birth
to a tender creature,
that might be brought
to the baptismal font
to receive the gift
to see himself united
to the life of Jesus Christ
so be it.
