    1 Corinthians 15:12-20

12Now if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised; 14if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised. 17If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most to be pitied. 20But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

  • Responsorial Psalm

    Psalms 17:1, 6-8, 15

1Hear a just cause, O LORD; attend to my cry! Give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit! 6I call upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O God; incline thy ear to me, hear my words. 7Wondrously show thy steadfast love, O savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at thy right hand. 8Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of thy wings, 15As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with beholding thy form.

  • Gospel

    Luke 8:1-3

1Soon afterward he went on through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, 2and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Mag'dalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, 3and Joan'na, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means.

    1 Corinthians 12:31; 13:1-10, 13

12 31But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way. 13 1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; 5it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. 7Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8Love never ends; as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; 10but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away. 13So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

  • Responsorial Psalm

    Psalms 25:1-5, 8-10

1To thee, O LORD, I lift up my soul. 2O my God, in thee I trust, let me not be put to shame; let not my enemies exult over me. 3Yea, let none that wait for thee be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. 4Make me to know thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me, for thou art the God of my salvation; for thee I wait all the day long. 8Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. 9He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. 10All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

  • Gospel

    Matthew 11:25-30

25At that time Jesus declared, "I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; 26yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will. 27All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
