Comastri, Angelo*

Angelo Comastri (born September 17, 1943 in Sorrano, Italy) became a priest March 11, 1967. In 1990, he was ordained Bishop of Massa Marittima-Piombino, Italy which he later resigned from.

In 2005, he was appointed both Coadjutor Archpriest of Saint Peter Bascilica (of the Vatican) and President of the Fabric of St. Peter, a position that he ceased upon the retirement of Pope Benedict XVI on february 28, 2013.

He was elevated to Cardinal a year later and installed as Cardinal-Deacon of S. Salvatore in Lauro on May 24, 2008.
