Vingt-Trois, André Armand*

André Armand Cardinal Vingt-Trois (born November 7, 1942 in Paris, France) was ordained a priest of Paris on June 28, 1969. During the time of his pastoral ministry, he worked primarily in formation of laity and parochial catechetics.

In 1988, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Paris and Titular Bishop of Thibilis in 1988, and in 1999 he became the Archbishop of Tours, France.

In 1999, he was installed as Archbishop of Paris, France in 2005, and that same year was appointed Ordinary of France, Faithful of Eastern Rites. He still holds this position today as well as Cardinal-Priest of S. Luigi dei Francesi (installed April 27, 2008).
