Stockholm, Sweden, May 12, 2009 / 06:02 pm (CNA).- Sweden, which legalized abortion in 1938, has taken its abortion extremism one step further by legalizing “gender based” abortion which allows a mother to decide to abort her baby solely due to his or her sex.

The Local reported that a pregnant woman in South Sweden, who already has two girls, arrived at Mälaren Hospital and inquired whether or not she would be giving birth to another girl. She went on to tell her doctors that her previous two pregnancies ended in abortion because she did not want to have another girl - and if this child was another girl, she would have it aborted as well.

Doctors expressed concern over this and brought it to the attention of Sweden’s National Board of Health and Welfare. They asked how to handle requests where doctors felt “pressured to examine the [fetus’s] gender” without a medical rationale.

The Board came back and said that requests to for abortions based on a child’s gender cannot be refused.

Johnston’s Archive reported that over 25% of Sweden’s pregnancies end in abortion. An increase of 17% after the introduction of the morning after pill, which was promoted by pro-abortion advocates as a way to reduce the number of abortions performed.

The article is not entirely true. Abortion has been allowed in Sweden since 1975, not 1938 (although some abortions were performed earlier on but only due to risk of mother dying).

That said, I do not defend our abortion laws. But facts need to be true. Abortions is allowed without restriction up until the 12th pregnancy week - after that a special permit iss needed - and after the 18th week its not allowed at all. So you see there are countries who extend the timelines even more. But Sweden is by far one of the worst countries when it comes to abortion frequencies - 38 000 abortions per year - in a country of 9 million...

The European Court of Human Rights now have a case in it's pipeline where a Swedish man tries to stop a sex-selective abortion of his child in week 20-22, may 20 th 2009. Sweden is violating art. 2 and 8 ECHR. I am searching for fathers whose unborn children have been/are planned to be aborted in Europe against the father´s will, manifested and documented protest. Especially unborn older than 15 weeks, can maybe have progress in the Courts in the European jurisdictions. H v. Norway, Boso v. Italy etc.

Another nail in the coffin of Europe. Nature is finely balanced - God creates boys and girls in the proper numbers. Now, sexes will be destroyed disproportionately, causing cascaded chaos. Likely, girls will be wiped out. Causing lonely, wandering, Swedish men. This will fuel war. It will also fuel population collapse. These things together will make the Islamizing of Sweden. Fools. Why do they never think that there are consequences for their actions?

Just another example of human savagery, indifference, evil, sloth, self-interest. I don't condemn people to hell because I have no idea what happens after this life but I do believe there is God and an after-life. But this is a disgusting and ugly show of "humanity." Sorry, sex DOES come with consequences. Pulling a "Hitler" on the ALWAYS INNOCENT child does not hide that fact..

The problem with abortion in general is that no one is willing to define when a human being aquires the right to life. Once the right to life is established it becomes a capital offense to take that life.

Please don't forget that Sweden has a growing muslim population that values their children differently. Sweden also allows foreign women to come and abort their children.

This is a problem with ultrasound as it has become accurate in determining the sex of the "Child". It was that sooner or later people would resort to this exam to decide wether or not that the "Child",due to their sex
was worthy of life.
VERY SAD! It is,not only does some one have the right to do with their own body what one would feel appropriate, they can have the right to terminate "IT"or some other body,when they want because"IT"is the 'WRONG Sex".
This is "Science" acting in a darkened world of good "Old Fashioned Sin". Lord Have Mercy! Death is the god of the secular humanist mindset and our" throw it out if it a'int right,kind of a world".

This exposes "pro-choice" as a hollow slogan.

Shall I tell my third daughter that, had she Swedish parents, she might never have enjoyed the gift of life?

Disgusting. Here's what a meaningless slogan like "right to choose" gets you.

Any "pro-choicer" want to try and defend this? You can add gender selection to the list of morally bankrupt and arbitrary reasons the pro-choice mentality uses for the "right to choose" to kill an innocent child.

Much more prayer and witness to the truth is needed.
