President Obama declares June ‘LGBT Pride Month’
![]() President Barack Obama
Related articles:
.- In a Monday proclamation, President Barack Obama declared June 2009 to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month, outlining his plan to advance homosexual political concerns. “Out of this resistance, the LGBT rights movement in America was born. During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans,” he said. The President said he was proud to be the first president to appoint “openly LGBT candidates” to Senate-confirmed position in his first 100 days in office. Saying there is “more work to be done” in the LGBT movement, President Obama advocated further protecting LGBT students and strengthening efforts against HIV/AIDS. He said he joined United Nations efforts to “decriminalize homosexuality around the world” and noted his advocacy of enhanced hate crime laws, civil unions, anti-discrimination laws, adoption rights for homosexuals, and ending the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy “in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security.” “As long as the promise of equality for all remains unfulfilled, all Americans are affected. If we can work together to advance the principles upon which our Nation was founded, every American will benefit,” he asserted, saying Congress and the American people should work to promote “equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.” U.S. advocacy of homosexual issues may be affecting its image overseas. Last Friday, the Baghdad Embassy employee association hosted a Gay Pride Theme Party at an employee pub. A flyer for the event, reposted on the Washington Post's website, encouraged attendees to “dress in drag or as a gay icon.” A State Department source told the Washington Times that the party “throws gasoline on the fire” of Islamic insurgency and strengthens the perception that America is promoting decadence. "Why are people SO fearful of
gay & lesbians is beyond me. My LGBT neighbors hold down good jobs, mow their lawns, paint their houses send their kids to good schools & yes, attend Church." Yes, all very normal, or so it seems. Except for the lie that the kids are not 'theirs' and will probably have been subject to the abominable propaganda that there is no difference between same-sex "marriage" and marriage between man and woman. To subject little children to this living lie is an abomination, yes, an abomination. That is where all this claptrap about so-called gay rights is leading. Next in line, please? Since marriage is in the process of redefinition how about including polyamoury, polygamy, and how about bestiality? Far fetched? Just wait!

Dave from Austin says "Bush ruined the country by trying to rule with Christianitys hate based principals in mind. etc..."
- This and everything else you wrote is insane thinking for it is not based in reality rather thoughts rank with arrogance and a remarkably hypocritical amount of hatred for Christians. We christians by our calling are forbid to hate. When I hate someone I cease being Christian by that choice. Bush is not an official representative of the Catholic Christian faith but his policies on matters regarding loving the life of our brother make Obama's pale in comparison. Your sweeping anger against christians and your tagging the word hatred to us all is incredibly shallow. I will pray for you that you stop your anger and hatred for all of us who strive to follow Jesus Christ in our lives. What sin as declared by our Lord and the church are you clinging to so vehemently?

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male
prostitutes nor homosexual offenders. Corinthians 6:9 People may curse the church, but they're really cursing the word of GOD!!!! Jesus loves you, but sin is still sin. We ALL must turn from sin, and allow a holy God to come inside and change our fleshly sinful nature.

Bush ruined the country by trying to rule with Christianitys hate based principals in mind. The world has no more room for that type of ignorance. Obama is doing the right thing, and no amount of whining from religious extremists is gonna undo that. Superstition and ignorance had its turn, now intelligence and rational tought are running things, so move out the way.

For all who put words into writings for their comments, why not be united and form a strong act and start gathering those who voted for this president and undo their very irresponsible acts. The damage done can still be corrected if only you would ACT. I am so ashamed for I thought Americans are fighters (not violent). Talk is cheap... He is not worth to be a leader..His morals and values do count but he never showed it. DON'T CLOSE your eyes! Even in my country, people speak of him as not reliable man. Can't you see that he's using weak catholics (working for him) to be against their faith and religion? The work of evil is very obvious it worries me so much. I'll pray for the mercy of God.

It seems to me that a Christian, Sacred Scripture has got to be my guide. Scripture, both old and new testaments, says clearly that these deviant practices are no to be condoned. Our Master said clearly what marriage is...if we can't follow His word, then christianity becomes just another outdated social mechanism.

"principals on which our nation was founded?" Is Obama really intelligent as everyone claims? He needs to remove the scales from his eyes. Gays already have the same rights as everyone: they have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex or not marry. What's next, a person's right to marry his dog if it feel right to the individual? I love all my gay friends for the goodness they show , but, they know where I stand on the issues. I has nothing to do with 'hate' but rather with the term 'MARRIAGE' ('Mother' in Latin root)

Start referring to these poeple as Sodomites, deviants adn lesbians. This put the very real and graphic image in peoples heads that is exaclty what "gay" means. The only way we are going to start making some headway on things like this and "gay" marriage is to start referring to this as what it really is: Sodomy! Stop calling them "gay" and referring to the abomination they want as "gay" marriage. There is nothing "gay" about it - especially in the eyes of Our Lord - he who warned against it. This is the same language shuffling that the left does with other things - like referring to abortion as "pro-choice". And we continue to let other shape us like this. Stand up and refuse to be manipulated - these people are sodomites, deviants and lesbians!

Obama. LGBT people are tax paying citizens who for years have endured hateful homophobic diatribes from politicians & preachers alike. Why are people SO fearful of gay & lesbians is beyond me. My LGBT neighbors hold down good jobs, mow their lawns, paint their houses send their kids to good schools & yes, attend Church. If we all aspired to live the Gospel & Beatitudes, rather than promote hatred, then & ONLY then may we attempt to have a conversation re: the US being a truly "Christian" nation. +Sacred Heart of Jesus & Immaculate Heart of Mary whose feasts are in this month of June, pray for us.

I feel I'm going to soon be ashamed to say I am from the USA! When are we going to stand up and defend our Christian Rights?! Our God Fearing rights? Little by little he is taking any morality that was left in our country and tossing it out, with any mention of God.
Why is it that Gays have Rights now, and Christian heterosexuals are losing them? Why is it he spends so much time & money visiting Muslims? God help our country please!

Endorsing and promoting sodomy and immorality and lawlessness (praising the 1969 riot in New York) and yet wanting to strengthen efforts against AIDS? Does Obama not think? This man does everything he wants without thought to consequences. Does anyone else out there think that everything he does is to please some group or another? Seems like he's covering all the bases. His popularity and his agenda is more important than anything...ANYTHING else!
He is so irresponsible, not thinking about the long term consequences to young people, to families, to the fabric of our nation, just as his appointment of Kevin Jennings, founder of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) as head of The Safe and Drug Free Schools. CHRISTIANS, UNITE! UNITE AGAINST THE EVIL THAT IS LITERALLY BEING UNLEASHED IN OUR NATION. TO DO NOTHING IS UNACCEPTABLE! We may not be able to take our country back, if we don't act now. Pray harder than ever and act more than ever. LORD, prosper our work!

I'm wondering about the lost soul who commented above who said that "Bush" ruined America's image abroad. With whom? That's straight DNC agit-prop. America has interests and must pursue those interests if it is to survive as a nation. Pursuing other nations' interests is not part of the game plan for an American president. Now, for a non-American born, Kenyan, Muslim, anti-capitalist agitator, it may well be the game plan. But I digress...
Democratic Presidents through JFK and LBJ pursued American interests abroad. Since Carter, they all seem to internalize the hatred and jealously that other nations have for the USA. Obama has internalized this kind of hate-speak, anti-Americanism, more so than most other university professors cum politicians.

I think there are enough LGBT parades and festivals with half naked or practically all naked people doing immoral stunts in front of children (especially in San Francisco) and film festivals with more immoral things. Celebrate WHAT? In July the president - will he be celebrating Heterosexual Month? He may think marriage is a man and a woman, but he is promoting same-sex marriage in a BIG way. Our nation continually gets more dark and messed up as he thinks up this up this horrible stuff. May we pray very hard for this president and the USA.

America is ridiculous and it dwells on the ridiculous and {LGBT} month is ridiculous. President Obama is relativism in action, intolerant of anyone who doesn't agree with his political agenda. The Democratic party is divisive and a party for anyone who wants to accuse anyone who is decent as a human being as being divisive. LGBT people accuse every Catholic on this website as being divisive. There is nothing so bad about LBGT people except that they are completely intolerant of anyone that can't in good conscience agree with them.
The President loves them more than any other citizen so they are special and to them and the President I say God Bless Them and America and Him.

I pray that his unacceptable policies stir Christians up to raise their voices against these acts not just in their living rooms but in the streets and work places. We also need to boycott companies who promote these ideas. Remaining quiet is the same as agreeing with Obama. We will be judged by not only by what we do but also by what we DO NOT do.
