Amnesty International attacks Poland abortion policy
![]() Related articles:
.- Amnesty International has continued its promotion of abortion with a report on the state of human rights which criticizes Poland for denying Polish women “access to abortion.” The organization’s actions could reflect its partnership with a pro-abortion group to redefine abortion as a “human right.” Amnesty also criticized the Polish government for failing to implement the European Court of Human Rights’ 2007 ruling in the case Tysiac v. Poland, which declared a duty to “establish effective mechanisms for ensuring women have access to abortion where it is legal.” The Tysiac v. Poland case resulted in a 25,000 Euro fine against the Polish government in favor of a severely myopic woman who claimed she would go blind if she could not get an abortion. According to C-FAM, critics of the ruling say the woman’s claims were unsupported by the facts and the court ignored the opinions of eight experts, several of whom were medical specialists, who concluded there was no connection between her pregnancy and her condition. Judge Javier Borrego Borrego of Spain wrote in his dissent in Tysiac v. Poland that the majority relied on the “isolated and muddled” opinion of a single general practitioner. “By trumpeting decisions like Tysiąc and statements emanating from United Nations agencies to advance a global abortion agenda, Amnesty International has adopted a strategy originally spearheaded by pro-abortion public interest law firm Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR),” C-FAM charged on Thursday. Susan Yoshihara, a C-FAM official, reported that at the 2007 Women Deliver Conference in London, Amnesty International’s “reproductive rights” coordinator Stephanie Schlitt committed the group to partnering with CRR to make abortion recognized as a “human right” through litigation. Yoshihara described Schlitt’s strategy as relying in part upon arguing that such a right could be found in existing human rights treaties. Even though such treaties are silent on abortion, she said, skillful advocacy could help sway United Nations officials and global jurists to recognize such a right. Amnesty International, which was founded by a Catholic convert, took no position on abortion until in July of 2007 it began officially advocating for it as a “human right” in certain cases. The switch caused Catholics around the world, including some bishops, to cancel their membership in Amnesty. C-FAM says that some critics see a growing trend of “human rights” groups seeking to impose abortion obligations on countries. Subscriber comments:

I ask you how is crushing and sucking out of the womb a human being by the state a human right?
If you ask me its just old fashioned human sacrifice just like in the old days of history down through the ages. We just put a new name on it as a medical procedure called abortion. No matter how things change they stay the same. Abortion was instigated by the feminists as a power card for their gender rights as females. What they lost along the way was their humanity when they were fighting for women's rights. Its a cold world now. A child pays when one makes the decision to have sex. A viable child to the world. No one thinks about this because we live in a disposable society. Well when we dispose of too many people then I think we will see how it affects our future. I would like to know how we got to this barbaric point in society?

Some years back I supported Am.Intl. w/ money and letter writing to those around the world who abused human rights.
Then one day, I learned that my money was being used for pro-abortion efforts. I immediately dropped this offensive effort. And told them why. Isn't it a shame that this group doesn't believe in human rights for everyone? Withdrawing support didn't seem to wake them up. A.I. has prostituted itself and in doing so, ruined so many opportunities to do good around the world. It has lost its validity; its efficaciousness .

No child is safe from the human rights activists aiding and abetting infantcide. Please pray for these humans. They know not what they do.

If amnesty means forgiving a political offense, than where is the offense of the polish government for not supporting the grossly offensive act of abortion. What is Amnesty international but another "politically correct" name for an organization that doesn't know what the word amnesty means.Amnesty is a general pardon for political offenses by a government. It is a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense to a class of people or a forgetting of an offense.Amnesty international says that your tax free gift to them will free a prisoner of conscience. Is that a person that wants an abortion??????CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway abortion is a tragic medical procedure and not some right.

How tragic! Amnesty International has joined the side of the world's death peddlers and has even betrayed what is supposedly stood for. I guess there is no amnesty for those in the womb. How tragic that the safest place on the earth, the womb of the mother, has become an execution field where babies are slaughtered by the millions each year.
It is horribly sad that so many are deceived into thinking that what they carry in their womb is less than a child. Make no mistake, it is indeed a human life. It carries a distinct genetic code. It has human features. It acts like a baby and this can be seen via ultrasound. Sadly, you cannot hear its screams as you kill it in the womb, but be firmly assured that the procedure is extremely painful for the pre-born. If you don't believe me about the pain, watch an abortion filmed with an ultrasound machine and then tell me if you think the pre-born feels pain! I am sickened by the relativism of this world and the supposed organizations like the UN and AI who supposedly help the world, but lie through their teeth and instead quietly bring its demise.

The only thing these groups are trying to do is eradicate the Church.

Few know this about Amnesty international, and it is good that you are publicizing proof that Amnesty International has lost its way, and has become an abortion lobby.
My faulty memory had the year at 2006 though, summertime, and I believe the Vatican immediately distanced itself from this once important organization. ADD A COMMENT (Your e-mail will NOT be published):
