Bishop Francisco Barbosa

.- Church leaders in Uruguay are awaiting a decision from the Holy See on how to proceed with the case of Bishop Francisco Barbosa da Silveira of Minas, who has been accused by clergy in his diocese of sexual misconduct.

Sources at the Uruguayan Bishops’ Conference confirmed that the bishops do not have the authority to take the necessary measures in the case of Bishop Barbosa, who has been denounced for having homosexual relations by some clergy in his diocese. The case of Bishop Barbosa must be dealt with by the Holy See.

The newspaper El Pais reported the bishop requested a police investigation saying he was the victim of extortion. Two adult men with criminal backgrounds were charged and sentenced to prison.

“The bishops’ conference, the Church, has no plans to provide any kind of explanation,” the newspaper reported.

According to the newspaper El Observador, this would be “the first time in the history of the Church in Uruguay that a bishop has had to resign over issues related to his private life.”

Bishop Francisco Barbosa is one of the most theologically controversial prelates in Uruguay and is very “contemporary,” as demonstrated by his Episcopal motto, loosely translated as, “Gotta keep moving on.” The motto is taken from a popular song and is a refrain often used by a left-wing political coalition that supports abortion.

Bishop Barbosa was born on March 16, 1944. He was ordained a priest on June 17, 1972 at the age of 28.  On March 6, 2004, he was named Bishop of Minas and was installed on May 8 of that same year.

To: Mr Larsen, I not quite sure
where you arrived at the conclusion :
"the homosexual has a completely distorted perspective
about life". I seem to vividly
recall that 2 American Archbishops (Marino of Atlanta & Sanchez of Santa Fe) were both forced to resign in the early 90's due to their affairs with women.
Fast forward to today, it seems to me a certain
heterosexual governor of
South Carolina who refers to himself as a "committed "
Christian has had his share of marital infidelity. "Let he among you who's without sin,
cast the first stone"
+Sacred Heart of Jesus,
have mercy on us all.

Bishop Barbosa and his likes should be removed ,they are what Pope Paul VI referred as the "smoke of Satan" which has entered the Church.

It is a blessing in disguise that all these wolfs in sheeps' clothings are now emerging , for a cleansing of the Church.

Could this be part of what the Holy Mother has meant when she said that "my Immaculate Heart will triumph?.

The book "AA 1025 The Memoirs of an Anti Apostle" tells of the journal of an anti apostle who has infiltrated the Church as priest.

Is Bishop Barbosa one of them ?.

I thought the photo was a nun. Why do they install such people, instead of upright ones.

The homosexual has a completely distorted perspective about life and is mostly a disordered human being. They are bound to get into trouble as they know no restraint with their conduct. This bishop if he thinks that you gotta keep moving on,is well advised to leave the Catholic Church. He should just leave and forget letting the Holy See make the decision for him. This is all assuming that he is truly guilty. He would then be doing everyone a favor because he would be true to himself as he would be moving on.
