Planned Parenthood trolling for pro-abortion Catholics to oppose U.S. bishops
![]() Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards
Related articles:
.- Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, sent an urgent message this week to the group's base asking for pro-abortion Catholics to defy the U.S. bishops, who are campaigning against the current versions of health care legislation on Capitol Hill because they fund abortion. In the email, Richards says that “as I write this, the bishops have asked all the Catholics in the country to contact their legislators, asking them to alter current health care legislation to include anti-choice amendments.” “The bishops have inserted letters into church bulletins and asked priests to include their call to action in their sermons - and even in their prayers - during Sunday services,” she says. “One thing I know for sure,” the Planned Parenthood president states, “the bishops don't speak for all Catholics. If you're Catholic and you disagree with the bishops, please let your legislators know when you send your message. Your voice as a pro-choice Catholic needs to be heard NOW.” Richards claims in her email that “a few days ago, it felt as if we were holding strong in achieving health care reform that would finally ensure comprehensive coverage for everyone,”... “And then I received a copy of a memo that the Catholic bishops sent to their congregations.” Richards asks Planned Parenthood sympathizers to “contact your senators and representative right now, asking them to protect women, to protect our health care, to protect our rights and not cave to the vocal minority.” “Second, spread the word. I truly believe that if people know what the bishops and other groups are doing, they will be outraged, and they will speak up. Drowning them out won't be easy, but your action today will help,” she writes. According to Richards, “we are so close” to passing the current legislation. “In my lifetime, we've never been closer to expanding access to affordable health care for everyone. I don't think we'll get another chance, and we've got to do everything we can not to let it slip away.” “Rest assured, Planned Parenthood is doing all we can. Every time a group tries to limit the care and rights of women and their families, we will be here for them,” Richards writes. Subscriber comments:

When I became a Catholic I had to stand before the whole parish congregation and agree with all that the Holy Catholic Church teaches. When I was asked this question I had to instantly agree or disagree. I had a split second of hesitation because it was a matter of an extreme sense of honesty before God. There I was alone but a voice from within me was as if a close friend were standing at my side. It said to me go ahead say yes with confidence because more than anything you want to be a member of this Church. To be encouraged by this Richards woman to abandon the sound teachings of my Church to okay pro abortion or pro choice positions is just simply heresy! Abortion is sin,a sin of the leaders of this country because they openly promote it. The individuals that have had abortions are victims of misinformation by those very familiar with the art of deception. God certainly has mercy for the badly deceived individuals that are sorry for their abortions! Ms Richards if a designer had wallpaper of aborted fetuses to put up in your living room so that it would be a great reminder of a woman's right to choose for you,I'd assume that you would find that appropriate? Heaven help us all!

The health care bill will totally destroy America if funding of abortion is included. Mother Teresa said it is the "greatest poverty to kill the child in the womb". The gift of life which God gives is not a gift to be destroyed. Only the spiritually blind cannot see the beauty of this gift. Pray for sight that this woman and all PP followers will be healed. The Holy Bible lists the first miracle of healing in Jesus' ministry was of a blind man, symbolic of all who cannot see the truth. Jesus heals...Christians are His voice today. Notify your Congress men/women what you think about killing those helpless innocent little human beings with your tax dollars. As for me I don't want the blind to lead us..they're out next election.

I believe in the power of prayer and I also believe we must be very pro active in telling our elected representatives what we want. It`s easy to do.Here are some contact points:

You can be brief, make your point courteously and staffers are willing to note your position. You can be assured that our adversaries are sending e-mails and phone calls to their representatives to destroy much of what we believe is our fundamental freedom.

Both the headline and the first paragraph of this article are very misleading. Ms. Richards never referred to "pro-abortion Catholics". She was speaking about pro-choice Catholics. No one is pro-abortion. Millions of Catholics are pro-choice.

These times call for prayer, courage and persistence in our fight with the evils of pornography, the homosexualist agenda, contraception and abortion. We must be willing to give of ourselves until it hurts & never back down. We have God & his host of angels fighting with us to restore human dignity and true Christ-like, sacrificial, marital love. It is a glorious fight--not against Planned Parenthood--but against Satan, who has enslaved not only Planned Parenthood, but millions of other Americans to sin & the sad culture of death.

They won't find any Pro-choice Catholics...True Catholics follow the teaching on the church. some may say they are Catholic, but they are not. It is an oxy-moron to say I am Catholic and then act and believe completely different than the church on issues such as abortion! They will find false catholics for their side, but not true catholics!

A real catholic is pro-life. There is no such thing as pro-choice catholic. It is either you are catholic 100% or not at all. Because there is only one truth which is 100% proof. Any truth that is 99% or 101% is a lie.
Abortion is murder plain and simple.
Where did women's right come from? Or who granted them rights? Who gave them their body? GOD!

The goats and the sheep will be separated and that time is coming soon. We are passing from an era of disobedience to one of obedience and this is good! We need the truth and we need Jesus Christ. I applaud the bishops for doing this. We are coming into a time of great difficulty but also a time of great purification. Let the faithful rejoice that Jesus Christ is returning.

That is definitely a misnomer. No such thing as a pro-abortion Catholic. If one is pro abortion they are obviously not worshipping in the Catholic religion or following it's teachings. They may have been born a Catholic but gave up the right to be called when they
oppose the basics of Catholicism. Life is sacred in the Catholic teaching, not a convenience or non convenience.

Let's all pray without ceasing for every single PP clinic in this country and around the world to be shut down! "The unceasing prayer of a just man is of great avail." James 5:16b The enemy's house is starting to crumble; it has been weakened with all the praying that God's elect have been doing at all those PP clinics and other abortion mills and in Adoration Chapels, in homes and Rosary groups. Folks please check the original "Nicene Creed"
"There will be no infallible definitions. All that was done by former Councils. That is enough. (Pope John XXIII) ---Pope Leo XIII, Apostolicae Curae, September 13, 1896
The Consilium under the heretic-eventually banished Bugnini, The corrupters of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, changed the Nicene Creed to remove Catholic doctrine on the personhood of the unborn.
They changed it to mean that Christ became man after birth and not at the moment of conception by the Holy Spirit.

It sounds like the evil one telling Catholics to go against life, their bishops, and the true teachings of the Catholic Church. PP is outrageous and does not help women. PP damages the lives and souls of women and kills future women. “the bishops don't speak for all Catholics." Ummmmm..well actually yes they do. If the Bishops don't speak for you then you're not a Catholic. It's really not that complicated. I do agree with Richards that it's very important to "contact your senators and representative right now, asking them to protect women" because the abortion industry causes unimaginable damage to many women and at least 50% of the lives lost to abortions are baby girls. Ask them to write and push legislation ending abortion on demand and creating policy that will expose the truth about the abortion mill indu$try.

While i am pleasantly shocked that the bishops are actually doing something, there is some sad truth for us to face. i pray outside an abortion clinic most sundays and in a parking lot of only 10 spaces, it is common to see 2 or 3 cars with rosaries hanging from the rear view mirror. likewise, how many obama bumber stickers did we see in our church's parking lot. if the bishops are serious, this has to be the beginning of a major education project.but you can't be a Catholic if you don't have hope!

One little detail she forgot to note.
Submission to your Bishop is a membership requirement. If a member publicly chooses to oppose their Bishop, they aren't Catholic any more.
Their "opposition" becomes "Former-Catholic opposition".
Pope Gregory XVI (1831-1846) stated: "No one can deny that the Church is an unequal society in which God has destined some to command and others to obey." Pope Leo XIII (1878-1903) also declared that there are two distinct classes in the Church: pastors and their flocks, the leaders and the people. "The role of the first order," he said, "is to teach, to govern and to lead men in life; to impose rules. The duty of the other is to submit itself to the first, to obey it, to carry out its orders and to honor it." As St. Thomas says: 'Everyone is bound to show forth his faith publicly, whether for the instruction and encouragement of other faithful or to repel the onslaughts of adversaries'."

One can only hope and pray that the Bishops support the Church's teaching in this matter 100% since that is their mission and their responsibility to God and to the people of God. The truth is unalterable. It is not a matter for debate within the Church.

I love how she tries the simpathetic route of saying how close we are to having health care for everyone. Actual PP translaton = Planned Parenthood was about to receive the largest funding from the government. Why do you think they had been so silent all this time? Healthcare, HA! Healthcare does not or will it ever involve the sick practice of abortion. What a brood of vipers!

Two things that do not go together are Catholic and "pro-choice", or "pro-abortion". It is time to excommunicate those that do not follow the Church's basic teachings, one of which is the sanctity of life. I think that it is a shame on the Catholic Faith to let some "Catholics", act as though they can be "pro-choice". I say if one does not beleive in life, then leave the Church.
