Crucifix is symbol of freedom, says Spanish bishop
Related articles:
.- The secretary general of the Spanish bishops' conference, Auxiliary Bishop Juan Antonio Martinez Camino of Madrid, lamented the recent ruling by the EU Court in Strasbourg, France that ordered Italy to remove crucifixes from school classrooms. The crucifix is “a symbol of freedom,” he explained. According to the COPE Radio Network, Bishop Martinez Camino said it is “unjust and discriminatory to want to confine the crucifix to the private sphere.” “The crucifix is a symbol of freedom and of the distinction between civil and religious power,” he said. “If it disappears from public life, we will lose all the achievements of Western culture linked with our values.” Bishop Martinez Camino also discussed the recent statistics on abortion in Spain, which number now almost 120,000 per year. The high rate of abortion is a “reflection of the dramatic situation our society is experiencing when thousands of children are being eliminated,” he said. The bishop urged that new laws be passed that “support women.” Subscriber comments:

The muslims blieve that the crucifixation did not happen and that is what the Koran says. People who are aganist the cucufix are surely trying to appease msulims and athiests.Muslims believe that someone else was crucified and made to appear like that. It will surely please muslims who are bent on invading Spain again and make it an Islamic State. Crosses in churches, graves and house will eventually have to be removed. Chrisrians wake up from your slumber.

The Anti Christian, anti natural law, leftwing modernists, like others of the same mentality and ilk in past centuries, will be humbled and exposed by God for the fools that they are. I think St. Paul hit the nail on the head when he wrote this guided by the Holy Spirit: "For the word of the cross, to them indeed that perish, is foolishness: but to them that are saved, that is, to us, it is the power of God.
For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise: and the prudence of the prudent I will reject.
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For, seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe".

If a crucifix became some form of a vulgar pop art than they would be everywhere in a society of heathens. That would be freedom of speech. As a symbol that challenges the souls of individuals and entire societies governed by very poor governments, than they are a threat to those with an impure conscience. A Religious symbol is a challenge to the human soul. The crucifix is a reminder of those that have given their lives for freedom and that they didn't die in vain. The crucifix is the bridge to eternity and a great sign of hope.

The crucifix is the greatest contradiction in the history of mankind. God so loved mankind that he gave his only begotten son to be crucified on that cross for the forgiveness of all man's sins. God never forces himself on us. We can either believe or choose not to believe. The crucifix is both a symbol of freedom and a belief in the resurrection. Christ crucified conquered death after three days and will reign for ever and ever in a heavenly kingdom too beautiful for anyone to comprehend.

The crucifix is a blessing from God. By taking it away from the schools we are denying the whole purpose of our existence. Our kids need to be protected by a higher power Who is our Lord because of him we have everything without Him we are nothing. He is the life and the Truth, so let's pray for the people who ruled against keeping our crucifixes away from schools. Amen.
