Muslim extremists forcibly turn Catholic church into mosque

Rome, Italy, Jun 6, 2007 / 01:26 pm (CNA).- On the same day as Father Ragheed Ganni’s funeral, Muslim fundamentalists sent another message of hatred to Catholics, this time attacking two churches in Iraq. Fr. Ragheed, along with three deacons were killed just this past Sunday after they had finished celebrating Mass.

According to the AINA news agency, two churches were attacked in the Baghdad district of Dora.  At St. John the Baptist’s in Hay Al-Athoriyeen, several security guards who protect the church were killed, and St. Jacob’s in Hay al Asya was vandalized and forcibly turned into a mosque.  St. Jacob’s had previously been attacked in October of 2004.

The attacks coincided with the funeral Mass for Father Ganni which was being celebrated in Karamles by Archbishop Faraj Rahho of Mosul amidst tight security.  The minister of finance of the regional Kurdish government, Sarkis Aghajan, attended the service.

On June 7 in Rome Msgr. Philip Najim, procurator of the Patriarchate of Babylon of the Chaldeans, will celebrate a Mass in memoriam of Father Ganni and the three deacons who were killed with him.

Iraq is where christianity started! It is a shame that their goverment does not do anything to protect the christians and their churches. If the muslims have the freedom of religion like we do in the west we will see loads of people turning to christ. If muslims knew Jesus they will never turn their back on him. They will have to compare it to what their religion teaches them.And the difference is huge. Jesus is the Son of God and not a simple prophet as the Coran claims...God himself spoke in the old testament through the prophets and God said a savior is coming and here He was.His name Is Jesus,,,To the muslims who kill priests and destroy churches I say"You think that you can get rid of Jesus?Big mistake .Jesus is here for ever.You will never get out of hell because you have no hope ..Jesus gave us the hope that Mohammad never gave you.So You really want to go to heaven ?Believe is the one who said "I am the way the truth and the light" And No one goes to the father(heaven) except through me.

The msm conveniently ignores the violence against and murder of Catholics and Christians. This is done to enable islam being labeled the "religion of peace". It is neither.

Muslims are only following the teachings of the Quran which clearly tells them to kill Christians

Sura3 3:64: “Verily Allah has cursed the Unbelievers (whom he defined as Christians in the 5th surah “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.) and has prepared for them a Blazing Fire to dwell in forever. No protector will they find, nor savior. That Day their faces will be turned upside down in the Fire. They will say: ‘Woe to us! We should have obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!’ ‘Our Lord! Give them double torment and curse them with a very great Curse!’”



Of the Unbelievers: Sura 4:89 “seize them and slay them wherever you find them: and in any case take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”

Islam as a whole and Muslims as a whole cannot be judged by what a few people do. Not all muslims are terorists. Why do they label us all. I am a muslim and i am proud to say it. I have the utmost respect for all religions I have christian hindu and tamil friends and we respect each others beliefs. We should all respect each others beliefs. Chritians believe in Jesus and Mary. Well muslims believe in Allah and we believe that Jesus/Isa (AS) is one of the messengers of Allah. We have the utmost respect for him and all the other prophets of God. Prophet Muhammed (SAW) is the last prophet of Allah(SWT) and he preached about all the other prophets of God including Isa/Jesus. Please let us all respect each others beliefs.

God has created us all and tolerates us then why can 't we? People who spread terror and kill their fellow brothers and sister, in fact, do not knonw God, and therefore distort God's face by doing this.

As is typical of the North American media, we don't hear much about violence against Catholics and other Christians in muslim countries. What is happening in Iraq and elsewhere is intolerable. Pray for the Christians in the Middle East...they need it.

anyone can see that the more you study Islam, the more you realize that their Allah is a violent God, almost directly opposed to the God of Love for Christians. This is a prime example of their hypocracy, utter disrespect for God's creation.
