Year of St. Paul to be celebrated to mark 2000 anniversary

The Apostle to the Gentiles

.- The Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff today announced that at 5.30 p.m. on June 28, eve of the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul, Apostles, Benedict XVI will preside at the celebration of first Vespers in the basilica of St. Paul's Outside-the-Walls.

During the ceremony, the Pope will proclaim a year especially dedicated to St. Paul, to mark the 2000th anniversary of the birth of the "Apostle of the Gentiles."

According to the Vatican Radio Calendar, the year will run from June 29, 2008, to June 29, 2009. No other details were available about possible events during the year at the time of publication.

St.Paul is a model and representive of all those who are converted to Christ Jesus.

Thanks to St Paul who gave Christian Mysticism a basis for exploration. Thanks to Paul we understand our inner life relationship to Christ to be one of union with him. Thank you St. Paul

It will be a great year. As the Apostle of Faith, it is good to pray to him, but better still, to read what he said and do it. I hope we will, because that will change the world in our time as he did in his.

I would encourage you to call on St Paul as a Communion Intercessor during the year so that you may receive Christ well at each and every Mass.

Wonderful opportunity to make a year long novena to St. Paul for the conversion of sinners and unbelievers.He is a powerful intercessor before the throne of God. What a gift to God. Come on folks, lets do it !
