Argentina judge revokes same-sex 'marriage' decision
![]() Related articles:
.- A federal judge in Buenos Aires has nullified the “marriage” of two gay men that took place last week in the Argentinian capital, saying “no elements existed” for the union to constitute a marriage. On Monday, Judge Felix Gustavo de Igarzabal of Buenos Aires reversed a decision which allowed two gay men to marry at the city's civil registry office on March 3. In his ruling the judge said no marriage took place “because of the absence of the institution’s structural elements,” in this case a man and a woman, and thus declared the act to be invalid. He also said any “legal effects derived from the act shall be suspended.” The judge ordered the two men to turn in any marriage licenses or documentation received from the civil registry office within 72 hours or face monetary penalties. It is ironic that several have mentioned Mary, even raising her as an example, given that if she and Joseph had been married today, they would each have grounds for an anullment themselves.

Because the Church decided that Christ's message saying that one should be "in the world, but not OF the world", when it strayed from telling Christians how Christians should live, and decided to seek involvement in Government affairs, when it decided that its' rules should apply to everyone, rather than Christians, that is when it lost the message of Christ. Had Christ run for political office, the church would have had reason to involve itself in politics. Christ never did that, and in involving itself in politics, the church is delclaring that Christ didn't finish the job. Doesn't really make much sense to me!

No matter how hard Churches and conservative social forces fight against gay marriage. They will lose, as they lost civil rights' battles such as women and black rights, end of slavery, personal sexual freedom, etc.

Divorce, un-Christian behavior, lack of love and repentance, child abuse, sex abuse, cheating husbands, cheating wives, intolerance, bigotry, judging, a Church that has lost its way and focuses more on covering its errors than in seeking true redemption...all those ills affect far more the core message of Christ, than two people, irrespective of gender, who wish to obtain the same rights enjoyed by their brethren. Not seeing this, it seems to me, smacks of deep-rooted hatred, the sort of blinding bigotry that Jesus Christ, who may I remind you NEVER made an anti-Gay statement, spoke plenty against. Ask yourself...can we be bigots and Catholics, can we deny the rights of some and still be followers of the ONE who sought rights for all?

I hope that those folks praising God for state sanctioned discrimination are working as hard to revoke the ability for straight couples to divorce. That would truly be the "protection of marriage".

How Christian to forcibly annul the partnership, deny them the legal benefits, and publicly humiliate them. I'm sure God is smiling.
