Famous Mexican actor rips Obama over abortion, warns U.S. Latinos

Los Angeles, Calif., Sep 24, 2008 / 04:34 pm (CNA).- The movie star Eduardo Verástegui has recorded a special video message to encourage Hispanic voters in the U.S. to put an end to abortion and to expose the radical abortion position of presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Verástegui, who is perhaps best known in the U.S. for his pro-life film "Bella," presents his challenge to Latino voters by calling attention to the fact that most abortion clinics are located in Hispanic neighborhoods and that the Spanish media is saturated with pro-abortion advertising.

“Abortion is not only a lucrative industry; it is also used by people who are racist as a means to eliminate our people, since they consider us to be a threat to democracy in this country,” Verástegui asserts.

After noting that more than 3,000 babies are aborted each day in the U.S. and that 650 of those babies are Hispanic, the actor states that abortion is legal “because there are not enough men and women who raise their voice against abortion.”

“We need to put an end to abortion and political candidates play a very important role in this matter,” he continued, pointing out that Obama supports abortions performed during the last trimester of pregnancy, inhuman partial birth abortion,” and that Obama “wants to finance abortions with the tax dollars you and I pay.”

As a lawmaker, Obama “voted on several occasions against a law to protect babies who survived an abortion and were born alive,” Verástegui states.

“Obama is committed to removing all the pro-life laws that in many states currently offer protection to unborn babies and their mothers. Mr. Obama does not agree that the parents of a 13 year-old girl who is pregnant should be notified before she has an abortion,” the actor underscored.

“Obama is more interested in maintaining the legality of abortion that in the well-being of the babies, children and families of this country. Let us unite and do something to defend life at every stage, from conception to natural death,” he says.

Verástegui's message about Obama is punctuated by clips from the video “The Hard Truth,” which shows graphic images from real abortions. The Mexican actor explains that just as teachers in schools show videos of the Holocaust to expose the truth about the atrocities committed by the Nazis, he too is including the video to show the horror of abortion.

As a practising Catholic, my concern is for the biblical and moral values that I hold dear. I support whoever defends the sanctity of human life, supports the institution of traditional marriage, protects the country from terrorism and advances the cause of religious liberty. While certainly not perfect, the 2008 Republican platform of John McCain comes closest to embracing those ideals by a wide margin. I hope Catholics will vote for McCain who upholds policies supporting the sanctity of life. Obama is very pro-abortion and pro-homosexuality.

Obama is a strong supporter of Abortion. He has no record of accomplishing anything significant. He is inexperienced and only had 143 working days as a senator and he accomplished nothing when he had the chance to “Change”. It’s empty words.

In my opinion if abortion was to be criminilized I think the punishment should be for the Women (mental help)For the doctors who do abortions even if all abortions clinics were banned, jail time like Dr. Kravirka(not sure how to spell it. Of course probably many murders will be unsolved or unknown.

Even thou the women has the choice, The President and all of us are also responsible to the killing of that child. Killing should never be legal not even if its a safe killing.

it is ease to blame obama. what about the person having the abortion did obama is going to put a gun on their head? and said go have an abortion. what he is doing is he is giving you the option of having an abortion to a safe place like a clinic not like in some countries that abortion is illegal and they go to those people that practice illegal abortion and the person end up dead

Who posted that the facts the actor said were untrue? The facts are horrible enough to SOUND untrue, but I suggest that the poster look up the facts and please information that proves otherwise. I guarantee he will not be able to find anything. What the actor has said is true.

Mr. Verastegui is so right! The So called "liberals" of today defend the polar bears, the trees in the forest, and even the smallest and useless of insects lives and habitat, but they attack the defensless unborn and vote to keept partial birth abortion, the most horrific of crimes against humanity be kept legal. Obama is but a puppet in the hands of the Streisands, the Soros, and the Michael Moores of the "Socialist-Communist" movement and have no respect for any life since they don't believe in God.

WOW...an actor that has some morals. Way to go! I'm very impressed. I only wish Hollywood's liberal, immoral, God-less elite would follow suite but they're too busy enjoying bashing the USA but frolicking in the pleasures and wealth it's provided for them. I wish Barabara Striesand the the rest of those idiots would move to another country. They don't deserve to live in this great nation! Awesome I only wish spineless American actors had the guts to stand out in front like this fine example of a real HUMAN. Sure they will fight for Global Warming but that is a lie why can't they fight the execution of innocent babies? Aren't they the ones against the death penalty for murderers and rapists? I actually cried when I read that Eduardo Verástegui had the courage and the heart to speak the truth on this horrible matter. Finally someone in Hollywood had the courage to take on the establishment at such a critical point of time. Our youth of America are being fed the lie that anything goes, and it is cool to do what you want with no thought to morals.
I am so sick of Hollywood trying to silence the message that abortion is murder, and innocent voices of the unborn do not need to be heard.
I also realize by doing so Mr. Verástegui has jeopardized his career in Hollywood, and he very well might find himself ostracized. I feel like we are in the fight for America's soul at this election.
Thank you so much Mr. Verástegui, and may God raise your voice up so the truth may be heard, by those who need to hear the message of truth.

What an eye opening video! I just hope God forgives this Nation for supporting this atrocious practice.
