Pope praying for unemployed in August
Related articles:
.- On Friday, the Vatican released Pope Benedict XVI's prayer intentions for the month of August. In his intentions, the Pontiff is praying that those in serious financial need or require housing will be assisted. Pope Benedict's general prayer intention is: "That those who are without work or homes or who are otherwise in serious need may find understanding and welcome, as well as concrete help in overcoming their difficulties." His mission intention is: "That the Church may be a 'home' for all people, ready to open her doors to any who are suffering from racial or religious discrimination, hunger or wars forcing them to emigrate to other countries." That is find and dandy - but his bishops are trying to tell us here in the US that we Catholic and non-Catholic taxpayers are “morally” responsible for doing this. And they are using a misinterpretation of scripture to make their moral case. There are people in our country who know how to make permanent, good paying jobs but his bishops are promoting the socialist programs housed in the pro-abortion party that are preventing us from doing what we know works. His bishops aren't going to protect us from the leftist who will run the healthcare system, denying people the care they need because they are not a party of the right group. And his bishops aren't going to protect us from keeping the Islamic radicals from hijacking planes to fly into buildings and Muslin mad men who want to build nuclear bombs to threaten their neighbors and our allies. There are things he can be telling his bishops, here, but isn’t. But I am glad to know he will be praying for us.
