.- Today the Pope discussed how to deal with the requests of increasing numbers of Episcopalians and Anglicans who want to join the Roman Catholic Church.

According to Times Online, the Holy Father, who is making the reunification of Christendom a goal of his pontificate, met with cardinals from around the world to consider requests from three US Episcopal bishops and a group of traditionalist Anglicans to be received into the Church.

The meeting in Rome comes on the eve of the consistory to create 23 new cardinals.

I pray the Catholic Church will receive these wonderful people and it shows what Cardinal Newman once said that the Holy Spirit is alive and well in the world. May God bless this awesome occurrence and keep it ever growing!!!!

Not just ~joining~ as in a club or association, they must also believe in all the mysteries of the Faith, Eucharistic
Real Presence, and all that is required
of their membership into the Catholic Faith.

I think this is a good step toward the union between some faithful member of other churches and the Catholic Church. Man divides the Churchr whereas Christ insists that everyone should be one with him like he is with his Father. Nevertheless, the Catholic Church should use his authentic diserment and the light of the Holy Spirit to ensure that new member from other churches will not harm the church in the future.

This would be a true blessing because the ones who want to join the Catholic Church from the Anglican and Episcopal churches are extremely conservative and they all like us reject women ordinations, gay marriage, openly & actively gay priests or bishops. Most of them are pro-life and they believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

If these Episcopalians and/or other Anglicans wish to joing The Catholic Church, they might like I have, join without any baggage. I was Anglican for som 70 plus years and Anglican Clergy man also. I contacted the local Catholic Parish Priest and he assisted my joining. One must believe in CAtholicism to join....not just bad press or other reason and then join.

I pray that His Holiness will not keep the Traditional Anglican Communion in suspense for very long.

Viva La Papa Benedetto XVI!
