CNA Newsroom “I can’t breathe”

Faith leaders pray June 2 at the spot where George Floyd died./ Our Lady of Grace Parish, Edina, MN.

This week, we bring you a CNA Newsroom about racism.

Like you - we have been closely following news about the death of George Floyd and our nation’s reaction to it. What happened to George Floyd was not ok. Police brutality is not ok. Neither is the willful destruction of someone else’s property as an expression of anger. We could talk about all of those things a lot. We could have a whole series about those things.

But we do not want to oversimplify the endless complexity of this narrative.

So this episode features the voices of a couple Black Catholics. They tell their own stories. They come from different parts of our country and different walks of life. They’ll be sharing their reactions to the death of George Floyd and offering their own reflections on how we as a Church, and we as a nation, can move forward.
