Pro-life worship service to be held on Capitol Hill this month

Hundreds of pro-life clergy, advocates and abortion survivors will convene for the 12th pro-life Christian worship service on Capitol Hill Jan. 23.

Founded by twin brothers and fellow pro-life activists, Paul and Rob Schenck, the National Memorial for the Preborn and their Mothers and Fathers is both a solemn remembrance of all those harmed by abortion, as well as a joyous celebration of God's precious gift of life. Prayers will be said throughout the ceremony for all victims of abortion.

Now under the sponsorship of the National Pro-Life Religious Council, the National Memorial Service will be hosted by its president, Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life. Leading the service will be clergy from numerous denominations representing Catholic, Evangelical, Orthodox and Protestant traditions. Admission is free and open to the public.

The National Memorial Service is timed to coincide with many other pro-life events marking the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade. Many Memorial attendees also take part in the annual March for Life immediately following.

The service will be held at the US Senate Russell Building, Caucus Room 325 (subject to last-minute change), 1st and C Streets, NE, Washington, DC, at 8:45 a.m.
