The president of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference has called on the government in Ghana to take strong measures against illegal mining and to reform the electoral process.
Local sources contacted by Aid to the Church in Need said the killings took place between Feb. 12 and Feb. 15 in Maiba, a village in the eastern region of DRC.
In a statement issued Jan. 10, Benin’s Catholic bishops said that diversity in opinions should be a “source of strength” for the country’s democracy.
