Two new Catholic movies that debuted in theaters in September and October are coming back to the big screen for encores by popular demand.

American moviegoers will be able to see “Saint Michael: Meet the Angel” in theaters Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 and “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love” on Nov. 2.

Mother Teresa: No Greater Love” chronicles the life of the 20th-century saint and the impact both she and her religious order, the Missionaries of Charity, have had on the people they have served throughout the world.

According to the “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love” press release, its two- night showing in theaters Oct. 3–4 generated more than $1.2 million in ticket sales.

The documentary, which was produced by the Knights of Columbus, was filmed on five different continents. It gives a window into the lives and service of the Missionaries of Charity, the religious order the saint founded in 1950 in Kolkata, India.

“One of my hopes for this film is that it can reignite a devotion to Mother Teresa and, more importantly, inspire people to come back to their faith,” David Naglieri, director of the film, told CNA in an interview in August.

The film’s encore includes the addition of a “Spanish-dubbed” version in the United States only on Nov. 7. The documentary will be debuting in the United Kingdom and Canada on Nov. 2 and Nov. 3. Tickets are available through the film’s distributor, Fathom Events

Also being distributed by Fathom Events and Sonovision, “Saint Michael: Meet the Angel” highlights the power and nature of St. Michael the Archangel and other angelic beings.

In its Sept. 29 debut, “Saint Michael: Meet the Angel” brought in $625,000 and ranked third in revenue at the box office on that day, according to Comscore, the film’s press release said.

“[The documentary] leads the audience to places of apparitions of Saint Michael the Archangel and includes powerful testimonies of faith, riveting Church history, the beautiful architecture and art in Christian culture that will bring people closer to the extraordinary figure of Archangel Michael,” the film’s press release said.

The documentary’s Oct. 12 showing includes Spanish subtitles. Tickets for “Saint Michael: Meet the Angel,” produced by Candelaria Productions, Inc., can be bought on Fathom Events’ website.

“Saint Michael: Meet the Angel” also includes a bonus feature at the end of the film with expert commentary on angels. Some of the experts include Father Donald Calloway, MIC, who wrote “Consecration to Saint Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father,” and Father Chris Alar, MIC, the provincial superior of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy Province.

“In a world of increasing darkness and chaos, God has set up for us a supernatural force to help us combat this evil,” Father Wolfgang Seitz of Opus Angelorum, another expert who appears in the bonus feature, the press release said.
