Lajolo, Giovanni*

Giovanni Lajolo (born January 3, 1935 in Novara, Italy) was ordained a priest of Novara on April 29, 1960. In 1988, he was appointed Titular Archbishop of Caesariana as well as Secretary of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See.

Within 12 years (1995-2007) he was appointed Nuncio to Germany, President of the Governatorate of the Vatican City State, President of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State and Cardinal-Deacon of S. Maria Liberatrice a Monte Testiaccio, both of which he retired from in 2011.

He was installed Cardinal-Deacon of S. Maria Liberatrice a Monte Testiccio on January 27, 2008.
